The Ultimate Corfu Nightlife Guide (2024)
If you’re planning a trip to Corfu, you might be wondering what is Corfu nightlife like.
One of the main reasons I loved visiting Corfu so much is that it is one of the most diverse Greek islands.
The island offers something for every traveler, whether you’re seeking nightlife, cultural experiences or nature escapes.
If you want to party until sunrise, go straight to Kavos in the south of the island.
If you’re like me, and cheap shots and loud nights are not your thing anymore, you might like cocktail bars and casual bars in Corfu Town or Sidari better.
Let’s dive in!

Is Corfu A Party Island?
Corfu is not a party island. However, you can definitely party on Corfu.
What does that mean?
Most of the towns on the island are quaint villages, where nightlife is going for dinner in a local taverna and enjoying live music.
Still, if you want to party, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to do so!
Kavos is the best-known party town in Corfu. It is a small town in southern Corfu, with the main walking street lined with bars and clubs. I would compare it to Albufeira in Portugal.
Sidari in the north is a slightly quieter alternative to Kavos. I didn’t see as many clubs, but there are plenty of pubs and karaoke bars.
Going out solo is scary, so if you’re traveling solo, stay in the Pink Palace party hostel and join their famous toga parties.
It is a great option for Corfu backpackers who come to the island alone!
An important thing to remember is that these places are extremely seasonal. Most clubs are only open from June to September, so you should check their social media to know what to expect.
Finally, for a more classy and year-round nightlife option – Corfu Town offers many charming cocktail bars and clubs.
Kavos Nightlife
Kavos is the best place in Corfu for nightlife and the reason Corfu has a reputation as a party island.
If you’re up for lots of cheap shots, loud music, crowded bars, and dancing until the morning – this is a place for you.
The party area in Kavos looks kind of like a letter P. You have the Kavos Strip and the Loop.
You have everything you need for a party holiday along the Kavos strip. It is a about 2 km long street lined with restaurants, clubs and bars.
If you want to start your night a bit calmer, go to the Loop. The Loop is the road that goes left in front of the Fountain bar. That’s where you’ll find calmer bars and restaurants.
So, what can you do in Kavos?
- Nightclubs
- Bars
- Karaoke bars
- Sports Bars
- Bowling
- Beach bars
My best advice is to walk around and see what you like. Most of these places are kind of open-air, so you can hear the music and see the atmosphere.
I wasn’t expecting that bowling was such a big thing here, but I went to the games bar twice!
The prime time for nightlife in Kavos is July and August. I visited Corfu in May and most of the places were still closed.
Honestly, the way people party in Kavos is not my thing anymore. I’m not sure if it ever was to be fair.
Basically, I found the nightlife in Kavos is as different from the nightlife in Paros as it gets!
Sidari Nightlife
If partying is not the prime reason you came to Corfu, I would pick Sidari over the Corfu party town of Kavos.
There are several reasons, but mainly because I like the beaches in Sidari better, and generally northern Corfu is more interesting than the south.
Also, you’re just a short ride from some of the best sunset spots in Corfu – Loggas Sunset Beach and Cape Drastits.
The best way to describe Sidari is Kavos on a smaller scale.
The main walking street is also lined with karaoke and sports bars, with beach clubs along the coastline. Something is going on every night, and I was there on a random Wednesday in Mary!
However, nightlife is not an overarching theme of the town. If I had to pick one theme for the town it would be the Brit’s summer residence, and generally attracts older crowds than Kavos.
So, what is the nightlife in Sidari like?
- Karaoke Bars
- Sports Bars
- Beach Bars
Corfu Town Nightlife
Corfu Town, or Kerkyra, is the main and largest town on the island. While tourists primarily frequent bars in Kavos and Sidari, locals often gather for drinks at bars in the Old Town.
As it attracts slightly older crowds, compared to high school graduates in Kavos, the atmosphere of Corfu Town at night is quite charming.
Sway Bar & Kitchen is one of the nicest cocktail bars in the city, and the atmosphere of getting a drink in the beautiful Old Town is fantastic.
Other popular spots for cocktails in the Old Town are Chàvez Cafeteria Drinkeria, Bristol Café, and Dell’Acque.
Don’t think that you won’t find nightclubs here. 54 Dreamy Nights is one of the biggest nightclubs in Corfu.
Other Fun Things To Do
The best thing about Corfu is that fun things to do are not centralized in these three places.
Wherever you stay in Corfu, you can find something fun to do. Corfu is safe at night, and each village has at least a couple of bars and local tavernas.
If you want to party during the day, you can check out Kavos Booze Cruise. It is exactly what it sounds like, a Corfu boat tour that is also a party.
Basically, every beach has some type of beach bar, and most are very lively during the summer. You can get a sun bed, drinks, and a light meal in most of them.
The music ranges from soft lounge music to proper party music, but it is a bit unpredictable which one is it going to be.
I really liked the Grotta Bar near Paleokastritsa. It is on a cliff, so it is more secluded than the average beach bar.
Corfu Nightlife Dress Code
The dress code for nightlife in Corfu is quite casual. You can wear whatever you want.
I wouldn’t bother packing heels if you’re trying to pack light, but I’ve seen girls in heels.
However, most people are dressed quite casually. I’d even go for sneakers in Kavos as there can be glass on the floor in the clubs.
If you’re going for a drink in one of Corfu Town’s cocktail bars, you might want to dress up.
While people go to Kavos to party hard, those going to Corfu Town are usually more dressed up.
If you want to fit in Corfu Town nightlife, I’d go for a silky dress and nicer sandals type of outfit.
No need for high heels though, cobblestone streets in the Old Town are probably not the best place for it anyway!
Is Nightlife In Corfu Expensive
One of the main reasons people come to Corfu to party is because it is not expensive.
However, Corfu is not cheap either.
Sure, drinks are significantly cheaper than in the UK or the USA but they are more expensive than in Albania or Bulgaria.
If you’re after cheap nightlife, it is not a place where you can just order drinks without looking at the price.
On average, these are prices you can expect in Corfu:
- Nightclub Entrance: 10-20€ ($11-22 US)
- Cocktails: 10-15€ (1$11-16 US)
- Tap Beer: 4-5€ ( $5 US)
- Drinks in beach bars: 5€ for beer and soft drinks ($5.50 US)
Where To Stay In Corfu For Nightlife
Most people going to Corfu for nightlife stay in Kavos. If you want to party during the night and chill on the beach during the day, that is the place to be!
I stayed in Kavos for 2 nights, and the downside of staying there is that it is far from other tourist attractions in Corfu, so you’re kind of stuck unless you rent a car in Corfu.
A calmer alternative to Kavos is Sidari. I think it is a perfect alternative between a quaint seaside town and a party hotspot.
I also like the north of Corfu more than the south when it comes to tourist attractions.
Corfu Town is the best option if your idea of nightlife is slightly more upscale than karaoke and sports bars.
Finally, if you’re not going to Corfu exclusively to party, you can stay in any of Corfu villages.
Every village is lively during the summer season. There is a strip of bars in Ypsos, a party hostel in Agios Gordios, and local tavernas in every village!
If you spend a week in Corfu like I did, you can stay in each of these towns to experience different activities.

If you want to party this summer, Corfu is a fantastic affordable option.
While Kavos is the best-known area to party in Corfu, other places like Sidari, Ypsos, and Corfu Town are quite lively too.
If you’re tired of the party backpacker scene, don’t dismiss Corfu just yet!

There are so many reasons to visit Corfu, and nightlife is just one of many things to do on this beautiful island!
