How Many Days To Stay In Paros?
You need at least 2 days in Paros to truly experience the island, see the main villages, and enjoy the beaches.
However, with 3 days in Paros, you can add a day trip to Antiparos to your itinerary, go on a sailing tour from Paros, or hike the Byzantine trial in the center of the island.
Anything longer than 3 days in Paros falls into the realm of a blissful and relaxing summer holiday.
Paros is one of my favorite places in Greece and an island that has something for every type of traveler.
Its small size allows you to explore all the main attractions in just 2 days or spend a leisurely week discovering different beaches each day.
Yet, one night is not enough as you have to factor in the travel times if you’re taking a ferry to and from Paros.

How To Spend 1-4 Days In Paros, Greece
If you only have 1 or 2 days in Paros, you’ll want to rent a car to see the most of the island.
Still, it is possible to get around Paros by bus if you only want to see the main attractions in Parikia and Naoussa.
If you have 3 or more days on the island, you can visit Paros without a car at a leisurely pace.
However, if you’re short on time and want to see more than just Parikia and Naoussa, having a car makes it so much easier!

Day 1: Explore Naousa And Northern Beaches
Start your Paros adventure in the north Paros in Naoussa.
This picturesque fishing village is the postcard image of the Cyclades, with its whitewashed buildings and vibrant pink bougainvillea trees lining the streets.
You can explore the cobblestone streets or stroll along the Old Port and grab a drink as you observe the waves washing up on the coast.
If you’re spending a night in Paros, it’s time for a swim at a unique Kolymbithres Beach.
You can drive to the beach or take a quick taxi boat from Naoussa to the beach.
The unique rock formations and clear waters offer a perfect backdrop for an afternoon dip.
For one day in Paros, I suggest you sleep in Naoussa, so you can experience the iconic Paros nightlife.
As the sun sets, the streets of Naoussa fill up with chatter and laughter of people coming to the city for dinner or a drink in one of the seafront bars.
If you’re only visiting Paros on a day trip from Naxos, head back to Parikia at least 2 hours before hopping on the ferry.
It is hard to visit all Paros towns and villages in one day, so you’ll need one more day on the island even if you rent a car.

Day 2: Explore Parikia Or Mountain Villages
Start your second day in Paros by exploring the cobblestone streets of Parikia.
If you’re leaving the island today, a couple of hours in the morning is enough time to visit the main tourist attractions in Parikia before hopping on the ferry.
Some of the places you should visit in Parikia are the Holy Temple of Zoodochos Pigi, 13th century Frankish Castle Paroikia, and the Church of the Virgin Mary Ekatontapyliani.
The whole Old Town of Parikia is quite charming, with many picturesque corners.
In the afternoon, you have two options. You can venture to Lefkes and visit the mountain villages or spend the afternoon on the beach.
Lefkes is a serene mountain village, best known for its Instagram-worthy photo spots.
You can grab lunch in one of the local restaurants under the shade of olive trees with a side of stunning valley views.
After lunch, take a leisurely walk along the Byzantine Trail, an ancient path connecting the villages, and be captivated by the island’s natural beauty.

Alternatively, go to the beach. It is an island getaway after all!
There are many beaches in Paros, but I love Marcelo Beach, also known as Paralia Krios.
It is situated across the cove from Parikia, and you can either walk to the beach or take a taxi boat over.
As evening approaches, head back for sunset drinks in one of the seafront bars in Parikia.
When deciding whether to stay in Parikia or Naoussa, consider your itinerary and whether you rent a car.
For a 1-2 day stay Naoussa might be a better option.

Day 3: Discovering Antiparos Or A Sailing Adventure
On your third day, it is time to go on a day trip from Paros!
Rise with the sun and catch the early ferry to Antiparos, a charming sister island just a stone’s throw away.
You’ll have to get to Pounta to catch the ferry, but once you’re there it’s just a short 5-minute ride over.
As you step onto the quay, the laid-back island vibes instantly wash over you.
Start your Antiparos day trip by wandering through the cobblestone streets, and discover artisanal shops selling handcrafted souvenirs perfect for mementos, charming cafes, and restaurants.
If you stay on Antiparos until sunset, head to the Paralia Sifneiko for the best views!
Alternatively, why not embark on a sailing trip?
Sign up for one of the sailing tours from Paros and let the island’s breezes guide you to secluded coves and snorkeling spots only accessible by boat.
Going on a boat tour is a fun way to see the Cycladic islands from a different perspective.
Paros is close to the Small Cyclades. This underrated group of islands on the south coast of Naxos makes for a perfect day trip to escape the crowds.
You can also visit Antiparos on a sailing tour. It is a fantastic way to enjoy the beaches you can only reach from the sea like Faneromeni Beach, and explore the small island of Despotiko next to Antiparos.

More Things To Do In Paros
Most of Paros is not expensive, making it a perfect base to explore the other Cyclades islands or a relaxing beach getaway.
If you decide to stay on the island, there are so many things to do in Paros!
Hike The Byzantine Road
If you’re up for a challenge, gear up for a hike along the Byzantine Road – the oldest path on the island offering a journey through the rich history and jaw-dropping panoramas.
This fun hike can be combined with a visit to the mountain village of Lefkes and the picturesque village of Mariposa.
Paros Beach Hopping
Paros beaches are some of the best beaches in Greece, so use this opportunity to visit as many beaches as you can!
Monastiri Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Paros, about 7 km from Naoussa. I love the secluded location of this picturesque sandy cove.
Golden Beach is a great beach on the eastern coast of Paros.
Generally, most tourists visiting on a short trip stay on the western side, so it is going to be less crowded than popular beaches on the west coast.

Rent An E-Bike And Bike Along The Coastline
I rented a bike when I was in Paros and it was a fantastic way to explore the island without getting a car.
I managed to see the whole northern part of the island, including a swim stop at Kolymbithres Beach, in one afternoon!
Cycling is a fantastic way to visit several beaches on the island if you don’t rent a car and don’t want to depend on the bus timetable.
Keep in mind that Paros is hilly, so getting a regular bike is a proper workout!
Join A Cooking Class
I love cooking and joining a cooking class to learn more about the local cuisine is one of my favorite things to do when traveling.
As a vegan, it can be hard to indulge in local dishes, but this cooking class caters to vegans, vegetarians, and gluten-free.
Most local dishes are super easy to make, and you’ll want to recreate them once you’re back home!

Go On A Day Trip To Naxos
Paros is situated right across from Naxos, so you can visit the neighboring island on a day trip!
If you rent a car in Paros, you can hop on a short ferry ride and discover the entire island in a day!
Alternatively, you can spend time exploring Naxos Chora or join a day trip around the island.

Go On A Day Trip To Santorini
You don’t need to pick between Paros and Santorini if you visit Santorini on a day trip from Paros!
While Santorini is known as one of the most expensive islands in Greece, it can be visited on a budget if you don’t spend the night there!
Most activities in Santorini are free – strolling the cobblestone streets of cliffside villages or watching the sunset in Oia. You can find affordable volcano boat tours too!
FAQ:
You should stay at least 2 nights in Paros, ideally 3 nights. If you’re visiting other Cyclades islands by ferry, you need to factor in travel time. With 1 night in Paros, you’ll only have an afternoon and the next morning, which is too rushed to enjoy the island.
